A belated happy birthday to the award-winning Nina Kiriki Hoffman

The
acclaimed Nina Kiriki Hoffman’s began
selling short stories in the late 1970s, finally publishing the first
of her many novels
THE
THREAD THAT BINDS THE BONES in
1993, which garnered her a Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement
in a First Novel. She followed the
first of what became known as the CHAPEL HOLLOW series
with THE
SILENT STRENGTH OF STONES and
SPIRITS
THAT WALK IN SHADOW. As
part of her ENCHANTED
OREGON & SPORES FERRY, Hoffman wrote THE
OTHER SIDE SECRET , A RED HEART OF MEMORIES, PAST
THE SIZE OF DREAMING, A
STIR OF BONES, THRESHOLDS, and
MEETING.
The
LAZELLE sequences consists of the A
FISTFUL OF SKY and
FALL
OF LIGHT.
Alongside
series creator R. L. Stine, she
co-wrote three volumes of GHOSTS
OF FEAR STREET: BODY
SWITCHERS FROM OUTER SPACE (#14),
WHY I’M NOT AFRAID OF GHOSTS (#23),
and
I
WAS A SIXTH GRADE ZOMBIE (#30).
Dean
Wesley Smith, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, and
Hoffman wrote the STAR TREK: VOYAGER novel ECHOES.
Other
books include CHILD
OF AN ANCIENT CITY (with
Tad Williams)
and CATALYST.
Her
many short stories, including the Nebula award-winning “Trophy
Wives” have been collected in several volumes: LEGACY
OF FIRE, PERMEABLE BORDERS, FAINT HEART, FOUL LADY, ANTIQUITIES: FIVE
STORIES SET IN ANCIENT WORLDS, WILD TALENTS, and
THE
SKELETON KEY AND BRIGHT STREETS OF AIR: TWO STORIES and others.
