Another pair of reviews for HANNU RAJANIEMI: COLLECTED FICTION.

My final feeling with this book is unbalanced, as the book itself.
And it has really precious pieces like “The Server and the Dragon” and
“Invisible Planets” but also some stories too strange for me.
I also really struck by the experimental aspect of some of the stories,
playing with formats and involving the reader in a way unknown so far.  The Finnish author is certainly a value that will continue to care.

Astounding Yarns:

There is much here that Rajaniemi fans will recognise, and many of the stories seem to be set in the same world as his Jean le Flambeur series of books.  The collection gives one a real sense of the author playing with the ideas that form a large part of his later work and settling on his voice and style.  This makes for a very interesting and engaging collection of short fiction.
