THE BOOK LOVER’S BOUDOIR enjoys her introduction to Michael Moororck with THE BEST OF MICHAEL MOORCOCK.
I’d never heard of the author before. Like THE VERY BEST OF CAITLÍN R. KIERNAN I didn’t know what to expect. This is a huge collection spanning almost forty years. The stories are so wide, diverse and completely different than no two stories are the same. The stories here made me want to read more of his work. I expected the stories to be more science fiction but they fit better into the speculative fiction box. I enjoyed every story here.
BOOKSHELF FANTASIES offers a vacation reading wrap-up with Daryl Gregory’s WE ARE ALL COMPLETELY FINE.
It’s a short read, easily digestible in one sitting. I really liked it, and now that I’ve dipped my toe into his work, I’ll definitely be reading more by Daryl Gregory!
Giving this one 4 beach umbrellas — easy to read on the beach, but the subject matter didn’t really meld well with the bright light of day.
Both Nalo Hopkinson and Eileen Gunn will be instructors at the six week summer 2020 CLARION WEST WRITERS WORKSHOP, June 21-July 31.
DENVER SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY BOOK CLUB is discussing Peter Watts’ THE FREEZE-FRAME REVOLUTION on September 25.
