First up, one review and one mention of the forthcoming  LED ASTRAY: THE BEST OF KELLEY ARMSTRONG.

From CURIOSITY KILLED THE BOOKWORM:

I appreciated how substantial some of the stories were. Ones you could really get involved and absorbed in. It’s one of the best example of this kind of anthology I’ve read in a long time. It’s definitely not the dregs! There’s also plenty that are standalone tales, including an excellent one where a village struck by diphtheria is visited by some men promising them the impossible. It’s a skill to write characters that draw you in in such a short space of time.

And this mention in the Sunday Status Update: August 9, 2015 at FANTASY LITERATURE:

I finished Led Astray: The Best of Kelley Armstrong, an interesting collection of paranormal, fantasy and horror stories.

Mark R. Kelly on his VIEWS FROM CRESTMONT DRIVE reviews James Morrow’s THE MADONNA AND THE STARSHIP.

This Morrow short novel exhibits the author’s well-known skeptical worldview and satirical stance; see the excerpts from his recent Locus Magazine interview.

The book is a satirical, almost farcical, novel about 1950s TV, alien contact, and science vs. religion.

A delightful book, highly recommended.

Another note: Saul Silver, the claustrophobic editor of SF mag Andromeda, for whom Kurt writes, who never leaves his apartment [I think this is based on a real 1950s editor, HL Gold? Not sure.], a couple times answers the phone with sarcastic phrases, e.g. “Planet Mongo, Ming the Merciless speaking.” (p165b).

This is funny because *my father* did this sort of thing when I was a kid, at least in jest; he would say “Kelly’s Pool Hall, Eight Ball Speaking.” I didn’t remember that until reading this book.

And finally, Belial announced the French edition of Daryl Gregory’s extraordinary. award-winning novella WE ARE ALL COMPLETELY FINE.

All beautiful, all hot, just off the presses of printer: “Nous allons tous très bien, merci” Daryl Gregory exist! (And we are happy.)

Press services and pre-orders will start tomorrow. Otherwise, patience will land in bookstores the novel in less than ten days, on 27 August.
