Happy birthday to the award-winning, thought-provoking David Liss
A member of the International Thriller Writers, David Liss has penned over a dozen acclaimed novels plus numerous novellas, short stories, and comics. His novels include A Conspiracy of Paper (2000; winner of the Barry, Macavity, and Edgar Awards and a New York Times Notable Book), The Coffee Trader (2003; New York Times Notable Book and was selected by the New York Public Library as one of the year’s 25 Books to Remember), A Spectacle of Corruption (2004), The Ethical Assassin (2006), The Whiskey Rebels (2008), The Devil’s Company (2009), The Twelfth Enchantment (2011), The Day of Atonement (2014), Randoms (2015), Rebels (2016), Renegades (2017), Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover (2018), and THE PECULIARITIES (2021). For comics, he’s written stories featuring Black Panther, The Spider, The Shadow, Green Hornet, Sherlock Holmes, and others.
He received a BA degree from Syracuse University, an MA from Georgia State University, and an M. Phil from Columbia University. He left his post-graduate studies of 18th Century British literature and his unfinished dissertation to write full-time. He lives in San Antonio, TX with his wife and children.
