The New York Times bestselling writer, editor, teacher, and publisher, Jeff VanderMeer has won the Rhysling Award, British Fantasy Award, BSFA Award, the World Fantasy Award three times, and most recently the Nebula Award for ANNIHILATION, the first volume of The Southern Reach trilogy.  Other acclaimed fiction includes the rest of The Southern Reach trilogy (AUTHORITY and
ACCEPTANCE),  CITY OF SAINTS AND MADMEN, SHRIEK: AN AFTERWORD, and FINCH. Many of his shorter works have been collected in THE DAY DALI DIED SECRET LIFE, SECRET LIVES, THE SURGEON’S TALE AND OTHER STORIES (WITH CAT RAMBO), THE THIRD BEAR, and THE COMPASS OF HIS
BONES AND OTHER STORIES.

VanderMeer co-edited several groundbreaking and popular anthologies including THE THACKERY T. LAMBSHEAD POCKET GUIDE TO ECCENTRIC & DISCREDITED DISEASES (with Mark Roberts), THE NEW WEIRD (with Ann VanderMeer),  STEAMPUNK (with Ann VanderMeer), STEAMPUNK II: STEAMPUNK RELOADED (with Ann VanderMeer),  THE WEIRD (with Ann VanderMeer), THE TIME TRAVELER’S ALMANAC (with Ann VanderMeer), SISTERS OF THE REVOLUTION: A FEMINIST SPECULATIVE FICTION ANTHOLOGY (with Ann VanderMeer) and THE BIG BOOK OF
SCIENCE FICTION (with Ann VanderMeer). Also with his wife Ann, VanderMeer produced THE KOSHER GUIDE TO IMAGINARY ANIMALS.

Among his numerous nonfiction volumes are the acclaimed volumes BOOKLIFE: STRATEGIES AND SURVIVAL TIPS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY WRITER, THE STEAMPUNK BIBLE (With S. J. Chambers), and WONDERBOOK: THE ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO CREATING IMAGINATIVE FICTION.

A film adaptation of ANNIHILATION, directed by Alex Garland and starring Natalie Portman, Oscar Isaac, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, is currently in production.
