Happy birthday to the lyrical, World Fantasy winner Patricia A. McKillip

Known for her lush
imagery and compelling characters, Patricia A. McKillip has written
over 25 novels including the award-winning THE FORGOTTEN BEASTS OF
ELD (World Fantasy), Harpist in the
Wind (LOCUS), Something Rich and Strange
(Mythopoeic), Ombria in Shadow (World Fantasy
and Mythopoeic), and Solstice Wood (Mythopoeic). In 2008, she
received the prestigious World Fantasy Award for Lifetime
Achievement.
Among McKillip’s
other prominent novels are The Riddle-Master of Hed,
The Changeling Sea, The Book of Atrix Wolfe,
Winter Rose, Song for the
Basilisk, Alphabet of Thorn, Od Magic,
The Bell at Sealey Head, The Bards of
Bone Plain, and Kingfisher. Her numerous short stories
have been collected in several volumes including The Throme of
the Erril of Sherill, Harrowing
the Dragon, WONDERS OF THE INVISIBLE WORLD, and
DREAMS OF DISTANT SHORES.
