Acclaimed science, science fiction, and historical fiction writer Ellen Klages, author of the World Fantasy Award nominated WICKED WONDERS and the World Fantasy Award winner Passing Strange, is discussing and giving a tour about the forgotten history of San Francisco’s gay bars from the 1890s through the 1980’s at The American Bookbinders Museum in San Francisco on June 22 beginning at 2pm.
Every city has its meeting places, where like-minded people go to socialize. Those storefronts created a sense of community by establishing a “neighborhood” feeling that came from a shared identity rather than geography.
