Every year in Turin in the frame of the Lingotto Fiere the entire book supply chain gathers: publishing houses, writers, booksellers, librarians, agents, illustrators, translators and many, many readers. For publishers, from large groups to independents, the Show is the most important opportunity to sell and present editorial news. For all readers, the Salone is a great international culture festival: 2,000 guests from all over the world for a total of 1,200 events. Every year the authors who have made the history of literature of the twentieth century and our century arrive at the Salone.

Born in Israel, British Science Fiction and World Fantasy Award–winning author and editor Lavie Tidhar has lived all over the world, including in Vanuatu, Laos, and South Africa, and currently resides in London. His lauded novels include THE ESCAPEMENT (2021), The Hood (2021), By Force Alone (2020), UNHOLY LAND (2018), Candy (2018; as The Candy Mafia [2020, US]), CENTRAL STATION (2016, winner of John W. Campbell Memorial Award and the inaugural Neukom Institute Literary Arts Award), A Man Lies Dreaming (2014, winner of the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize for Best British Fiction), THE VIOLENT CENTURY (2013), Martian Sands (2013), Osama (2011, winner of the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel), the Bookman Histories [(The Bookman (2010), Camera Obscura (2011), The Great Game (2012)], and The Tel Aviv Dossier (2009 with Nir Yaniv).

Sizemore), Jews vs Zombies (2015 with Rebbecca Levene), Jews vs Aliens (2015 with Rebbecca Levene), and The Best of World SF: Volume 1 (2021). His graphic novel credits include going to the moon (2012 with artist Paul McCaffrey), Adolf Hitler’s “I Dream Of Ants!” (2012 with artist Neil Struthers), and Adler (2020 with artist Paul McCaffrey).

For four days, more than a hundred guests from various backgrounds (France, Europe, United States, etc.), writers or artists, authors of fantasy, science fiction, fantasy, historical novels, tales and legends, share their passion with an increasing audience every year.
More than 45,000 visitors came in 2019 to immerse themselves in these imaginary worlds, between exhibitions, conferences, literary cafes and unusual activities, in a shaded park, bordered by the curves of the Moselle.
The festival naturally found its place in a town, Épinal, which has always been dedicated to culture and image.

And what is the Singularity anyway? A silly hypothetical concept beloved by the neo-libertarian tech rich? A utopian vision? A dystopian one? Or is it a convenient shorthand for the possible convergence of human and machine that we already have?
The fun is in the asking. And I think each of the authors here grapple with some fundamental questions about human and others and our place in the universe. And, you know – they’re also terrific fun!

Locus Magazine was established in 1968, and became the single most important news source for the SF/F field, offering unparalleled cover, in-depth reviews and author interviews, and so much more. They have won the Hugo Award more times than I can mention. As a non-profit organization they rely on a mixture of traditional revenue and on donations.
