Following the
disappointing sales of her acclaimed first books THE LABYRINTH GATE
and the HIGHROAD trilogy (beginning with A
PASSAGE OF STARS), Alis Rassmussen assumed the pen name Kate
Elliott and began a string of bestselling, groundbreaking works with the popular
JARAN series (beginning with JARAN). Since then she has garnered
innumerable fans with the trilogies CROSSROADS
(beginning with SPIRIT GATE) and SPIRITWALKER (beginning with COLD
MAGIC).
Elliott received her
first World Fantasy Award nomination for THE GOLDEN KEY (co-written
with Melanie Rawn and Jennifer Roberson). KING’S DRAGON, the first
volume of her THE CROWN OF STARS septology, received a Nebula Award
nomination for best novel. Elliott’s first young adult novel COURT OF
FIVES was nominated for the Andre Norton Award.
Recent works include
the first collection of her shorter works THE VERY BEST OF KATE
ELLIOTT and BLACK WOLVES, the the long awaited first volume of the
sequel to the CROSSROADS series. POISONED BLADE, the sequel to COURT
OF FIVES, comes out this August.
All of us at Tachyon
wish the extraordinary Alis a happy birthday.
