Highly recommended, THE ESSENTIAL PETER S. BEAGLE is amazing
Some two weeks until its official release, THE ESSENTIAL PETER S. BEAGLE (Volumes I and II) continues to elicit pre-pub praise from places such as Sarah Evermotion’s Book Thoughts (and BookTube) and the Spanish site Cuentos para Algernon. Over on File 770 in Today Birthday’s, Cat Eldridge names their favorite Peter S. Beagle books.
Though not coming out until May, both volumes (VOLUME I: LILA THE WEREWOLF AND OTHER STORIES and VOLUME II: OAKLAND DRAGON BLUES AND OTHER STORIES) of THE ESSENTIAL PETER S. BEAGLE are available directly from Tachyon and all finer booksellers.
Also available for pre-order direct from Tachyon: single volume limited in both letter and numbered editions.
I’m going to start with the book I’ve enjoyed the most in quite some time. Peter S. Beagle is a veteran and great writer, although lately he is somewhat forgotten among us. And with this collection he shows us that he is a master of short fiction.

My favorite works? Tamsin, SUMMERLONG and IN CALABRIA. He won the Novelette Hugo at L.A. Con IV for “Two Hearts”. And he has a World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement.
